Default 00 scrambler back fire

Hi All,

I picked up a used 2000 scrambler a little while back, love it! I then put a full DG exhaust on it, do not love the exhaust and would not suggest it but it is what it is. At the same time I put a Dynojet kit in it and rebuilt the carb. Everything works great on it, starts real easy, runs strong but when I shut it off a few seconds after it pops a flame out the end of the exhaust. It's really annoying. Am I running a little rich? Everything is set as per DJ kit instructions. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks

Its just a an accumulation of fuel vapor on the last hit of the ignition system that ignites. Common thing on modified machines, have a a few KTM race bikes do the same thing with Akrapovic,DG,etc exhaust systems!Engine stops but final ignition happens a few seconds later,Plus heat and a small amount of fuel vapor drawn past the engine into the hot exhaust can do the same thing! You learn real quick NOT to have you face or any part of your body near the exhaust when this happens!! Had hair burnt of my forearms before! The MAIN thing is the color of the spark plug after running. Electrode and base of plug should be light to medium tan,if whitish, bump the main jet up one size or raise the needle and recheck. OPT
