I like it. It's so easy when you hit the gas in reverse (and the override button is pushed) that you are thrown forward because of the take off. When going 8 mph as you stated (or more if you have the switch pushed), if you turn the handle bars you will turn fast and if not prepared it would throw you easily from the ATV. Particularly if you are standing up in some technical trail riding, plow, etc. Yeah yeah...I understand what you are saying on your end.

Not a big issue for me and obviously a huge safety concern for Polaris and a reason why it is factory. We will never know the real complaints or issues Polaris had to deal with to keep it installed.

What other manufactures use them??

Twice I have started backing out of a bad situation only for the rev limiter to kick in at a bad time.

Never an issue on my other ATV. I personally think it's a pain and don't care for any over ride buttons.

I can see both sides of the argument here, it is a pain in the *** but it's also good for inexperienced riders.

I've almost bought the toggle switch kit for mine at least 10 times but I've gotten so used to using it that I can't justify doing it. If I was plowing or consistently needed 4x4 and full juice in reverse I would probably spend the time and $$. At least with the toggle you can turn it on and off when appropriate and also not lose diagnostic mode (on the HO's).

I'm sitting at 771 miles and 85 hours; not so sure how long it takes to get used to something.

This is just one of those things that won’t go away and keeps showing up. I just don’t like it having a rev limiter for reverse.

I still haven't taken it in to get the ADC fixed. Works on the rear wheels and intermittently on the front.

If I liked the ADC better I think I would have taken it in. I doubt that I will have it fixed unless something else goes wrong and I need to get it fixed.

All in all I enjoy riding it and I thought it would be more troublesome than it has been.

Well...some people do learn quicker than others (JK)

The good news is for $18 and 15 minutes of your time it's gone. And I do understand that modding this loaner machine is not really an option. Many people have similar complaints about dif lock levers on other models, but they don't go away so easily

The reverse rpm rev limiter with an over ride button is the second dumbest thing I have ever seen on an ATV.

Yes, I understand you can install an over ride for the over ride but the rev limiter shouldn't be there in the first place.

The one that it takes a back seat to is the 4-wd reverse over ride button so the 4-wd would work in reverse. WHY when you are in 4-wd and need to back up would you not want your ATV to be in 4-wd?? What were they thinking??

I have yet to see a reason "for me" to even turn off the 4-wd or ADC.
It's mostly for the non-thinking type of rider who just pegs the throttle in reverse without thinking about the consequences of said action. That and to shut up the corporate lawyers who are trying to keep the company from getting sued into bankruptcy.

Doesn't mean I have to like it.

"Limiters" are there for the people who buy more ATV than they can handle.

Maybe that's why mine is??

What's that quote? Specta is, as Specta does... (Must be said in Tom Hanks best Forrest Gump voice) JK!!!

I don't care for them either. I'm sure somewhere in ATVing history several people hurt themselves going too fast in reverse and they made the limiter for those types of people.
