my new ATV

So what need's to be done so rider's can hit the trails alone for the day carry a spare battery ? It sound's like you are starting to lose confidence in your 2012 machine ? I'm betting when the year's up that you don't buy it and that the next machine you do buy won't be a Polaris .

If Polaris wants to give me another ATV I would be more than happy to ride it. This one has been quite enjoyable to ride.

I think about the only thing I would turn down would be a SxS or anything less than about a 350.

I am going to do some repairs on my Rubicon and ride it for another 16k miles.

A pull cord is a definite must. I don't like the idea of not having one either. Had it not been for the pull cord on my 500 I would have been getting a tow back to the truck from 10 miles out when my starter decided to not work. Damned moisture on the brushes caused corrosion and stuck.

my kq700fi did that to me. left me stranded 14 miles from my truck- battery just clicked and it wouldn't start with the rope.
I spent an hour pushing it to a spot out of sight- just to hit the button and have it start

When I didn't listen to my battery telling me it was time for a replacement and I went for a ride anyhow, it wasn't fun. With fuel injection the system needs more power than the carbed models. I noticed that the pull start charged the battery just enough, even if it didn't start with the pull start, to get it going again so I could get back to the truck.
