I got out in some wet heavy snow and they did pretty good.

I have 3 psi in them and looking at the contact area I'm thinking I'm pretty close but might add a little more and see what happens.

Climbed a couple loose hills and still not sure what to think.

They seriously lack lateral contol.

I like that the speedo goes all the way to 120 mph. I feel pretty good hitting 50 on the flats.

Doug offered to get me another new ATV like a X2 or something else.

I told him no thanks because I only have 1000 miles on this one.

His 850 Touring is smoother and quieter than my 550.

My 550 Touring is one noisy machine.

I was headed into town the other day and probably doing about 40 mph on a graded gravel county road and it looked like a calf was going to run out in front of me.

I grabbed the brake lever hard and just about locked up all 4 wheels and when I saw the calf stop I let off the brake.

The rear tires remained locked do the the ADC and the machine started slidding sideways until I gave it some throttle.

I dislike this more than anything else about this machine.

I really do not like the way those rear tires lock up.

I am sure you're aware, but all of the 550's are noisy. It's amazing how many new owners come to the polaris forum to be sure that it's normal to have all of those noises.

I think the motors are made in mexico by soccer hooligans who love clanky noises

At times I almost question how far its going to make it and wonder if it has any oil in it.

Single clinder big bore machines all seem noisy and less balanced then twins. You have a single large 'detonation' which makes lots of noise and the weight and velocity of only one big piston flying up and down a cylinder versus two smaller, quieter detonations. The piston weight and the velocity of the smaller pistons in twins make it sound quieter and feel much smoother. The power band in the twins seems more uniform especially in the lower RPM range.

To me, it seems like utility quad engines much over 500 cc should go to twin cylinders given that loud noise ioutput s usually important, especially if you are hunting or driving around a mountain community of vacation homes. There are some single cylinder utility and sport quads that you can hear coming for miles. That leads to neighbors complaining and the big rumble scares away all the game.

Plus, the more consistent torque band in the lower RPM range makes rock climbing/technical riding better. It's not like sport riding where it's just pure RPM's to spin your paddle tires all the way up a sand dune face. In the sand dunes, loud engine noise is not anything to be concerned about either.

This has to be the noisyest/loudest engine and clutch in the industry. Its loud enough I tire listening to it.

My friends 750 single KQs don't make half the noise and are as if not smoother.

I know its not broke I just don't understand why it has to be soo loud.

The adc has nothing to do with the rear tires, it maybe the ebs but no the adc. The adc is only for the front wheels.

then the ADC only works once in a while

maybe not even once in a while

it didn't work at all again today

It really doesn't matter to me because I don't care for it even when it does work. It only works when the throttle is closed, in 4-wd (ADC selected) under 15 mph and less than 3100 rpm.
