it just didn't have enough ground clearance. Chase even has the stock tires on his KQ.

The lack of ground clearance is was kept me from following them in the snow.

This is the one thing I don't like about IRS.

If my Rubicon has 10" of ground clearance with nothing on it and I then load 200 pounds on the rear rack I still have 10" of ground clearance.

Not so with IRS, the more you load it the less GC you have.
Looks like if you were going to keep this quad you'd want to get some HD springs. The factory polaris has more ground clearance than the factory KQ IIRC unless this is something that has changed in different model years.

If it's squating that much with you on it, maybe you can cut down on the Elk sausages

Seriously, part of the comfort on the polaris is the soft suspension but many, like you, don't like it squating under load and upgrade to HD springs. I've heard many complaints on the value line but not so many on the XP's. Particularly not on the tourings because they are a little stiffer anyway because of the 2-up.

In the 4th pic, the machine really looks like its squated with the arms almost parallel to the ground. I am not sure that this is normal and is not the case with mine. Then again I am built like a 6 year old asian boy.

That's funny, I was typing pretty much the same thing at the same time....

When I took that pic my friend was riding it and I was on her KQ. She weighs way considerably less than I do and I'm only 200 lbs.

This Touring doesn't have the famous "comfort ride" that the others do because of the stiffer rear springs. At 1100 miles though the front is starting to squat with no one sitting on it.

The sad thing is I out did two of those KQs last year in the deep snow with my Rubicon. I guess a pay back was in line.

The snow conditions were a little different.

Just think where this would be sitting with 350+ lbs worth of people sitting on it instead of just one gal.

I let Pam ride my Touring most of the day. She loved the EPS and the ADC. She liked letting off the throttle and having it slow down.

She said she thinks she's going to trade her 07 KQ for a new one with EPS.

Her 07 KQ only has 20 more miles on it than my Touring does.

Are the rear shocks cranked up? It shouldn't be sitting that low.

I'd try going up a notch or two. Even on my X2 I have the rear shocks turned up a notch and that's with 400 lb. rated rear springs. In my case I was trying to even it out a bit as the HD springs on the front that I put in lifted it a good 2" or so.

I recently adjusted my shock preload..went from softest setting to 2 clicks up (right in the middle). It made a world of difference in the ride..it does not squat near as much under acceleration and feels much better on the trail. I will likely be going up another notch as well.

I've decided to leave the settings where they are, it rides harder than it should already just the way it is. In all honesty the KQ had a much nicer ride than this does.

Ground clearance will just have to be an issue. If it's sagging already at 1100 miles with one person on it then there's a problem with the machine.

Pam apologized for hitting rocks that she thought she should have cleared. She is obviously use to more ground clearance with her KQ.

I guess the low center a gravity makes it more stable - raising it up would only lessen one of its strong points.

I see posts all the time where people add heavy duty springs so they don't squat or they need to carry a small load. Doesn't adding HD springs ruin that great smooth ride?? And if you don't add them what happens all that ground clearance they have??
