I am trying to get the mixture right on the carb of this trail boss. There doesn't seem to be a correct setting it runs bad at all times but when you take the top of the air cleaner Off it runs a lot better.so my guess is that the mixture is tooo rich. I have tried to lean it up. But nothing works can any one tell me about the correct settng for the mixture and the idle.

I still cant get the mixture right. Bu if I cut the gas off and ride it right before the engine dies it runs great. Any suggestions. I think it might be the float level.

Did you replace the needle and seat and check the float level? Sounds like it's just getting too much fuel. Starts running better when you cut the fuel off until it dies. OPT
