Default 2011 500 H0 touring gas smell

I have notice a gas smell after 500 ho warms up. I traced it out to a gas hose going up to the handle bars to the digital console (speedometer). I see gas bubblws going up this hose and dripping out ..not much .If I loosen the gas cover it stops. Any suggestion on what cause this... aSK THE DEALER AND HE JUST REPLACED GAS COVER .Did not help.

Welcome to the forum! This is just the tank vent and is normal for a few bubbles to appear and usually go back down the line toward the tank, but if it's dripping out some of the causes is over filling the tank or the vent valve(should have one under the pod) is clogged or the line may be pinched between the tank and the pod area causing the pressure to build up and puking gas out a little.Just check the vent line out. Smile gas smell

I have an 850 xp touring and had the same problem. I took it to the dealer and they weren't any help. So I fixed the problem myself as I mentioned to one other guy on this forum. I got a longer piece of hose which fit snuggly over the vent hose going up into the headlight pod. I pulled the hose out of the pod then ran it along the left side of the upper frame. I ran the end of the longer hose (the longer piece I put over the stock piece of hose) up behind the passenger seat. Walla, no more gas smell from the vent hose as it is behind us now. On rare occasions, when the wind is blowing from behind us and we're riding slow, I'll get a wiff of gas smell but it's so seldom, I can live with it. It was a simple and inexpensive fix. The Polaris mechanics, sometimes, need to be more diligent and have some common sense.
