Daily ride to work

If I've done the conversion wright then you'd pay 8,32$ US for a gallon of premium gas here in Belgium.
How much do you guys pay?
I'm wanting a change in tyres because the tarmac melts the AT489 Carlisles like their made out of butter. A very nice tyre on the beach and non rocky trails though.
Doing the math on the short distance commute. Well anything compared to a frugal diesel BMW is pretty awfull looking at mileage. But on the other hand small frugal diesel BMW's are pretty boring compared to other vehicles!!
Definatly need a change, been driving the same one since 96!

Actually the shortest route is a railway track converted to bicycle track.
Guess I should go really hip and get myself one of those battery aided touring bikes. Or an electric scooter, these are also allowed on the track.
Mpg is astronomical and running cost is virtually tyres and batteries only.
Electrics either work or don't, only moving part on a brushless motor is the bearing. Makes an awfull lot of sence ...
But those things are about as charming as driving an electric loader through the warehouse.
Only fun ones are those Zero motorcycles or KTM's freeride E offroad bike.
