Clutch Spring Talk?
#1
OK. I see everyone talking about changing springs on their quads from the factory ones to the white, or greens. What exactly are you talking about? Is there a front spring and a rear spring? Do you change both or just one?
I take it, they engage at different rpms. Which does what? I have a friend that has an Express, and he's asking me. I don't know, so I'm asking you. Please help.....

There are several makers of aftermarket clutch springs, all of who color code them differently. Meaning a "green" EPI spring is not necessarily the same as a "green" AAEN.
The primary spring controls engagement and RPM's by the amount of force needed to compress the spring. There are several factors that go into choosing the right spring for your application from motor mods to individual riding styles.
Its practically a science and I would suggest buying the AAEN clutch tuning book, $20.
