Default Saggy ***

the rear end of my '96 sportsman 500 doesnt rebound like it is suppose to.

when i get on it and ride around a little then get off the rear doesnt raise back up. it's like it compresses and gets stuck bc if i lift up on it a little it pops up to its normal unloaded hight.

you can see the shocks are leaky so of course i need to replace those but are the springs wore out? or is it just the shocks?

Springs are what support you. The shocks just dampen the ups and downs so they don't cycle too quickly. Probably good to get both new shocks and springs at the same time.

yeah i knew springs supported the weight. what i was trying to ask is:

Would the shocks be "catching" and not allowing the springs to rebound properly or is it all just old and wore out?

i would doubt thatthe shocks are doing that, even though, yes it can happen. more then likely the springs are just weak.

look into the epi heavy duty springs...i would do springs in the rear and spring spacers up front...thats the cheapest route
