If the fuel pump is pumping ok,pull the line from the carb and see if you have a good fuel flow when you crank the engine over.Another thing is possibly mechanical. If you haven't checked/adjusted valves in a while, valves can tighten up(especially intake valves) when hot they can mimic electrical problems. Check/adjust these when cold. .006 intake and exhaust. If they are with in specs start on basic electrical checks. Plug cap itself is a lot of times over looked. Resistance on it should be a little shy of 5k ohms. Coil tab to ground should be 0.3. Coil secondary(coil tab to plug wire end, around 6300 ohms. Pick up coil white to white/red,around 97 ohms.I think on this model for the stator the red wire from the stator to green(leading into the cdi) should ohm out at 1.6 ohms. Black/red to green 446 ohms.Couple other things to check. One is the cam when you check the valves, look at the exhaust cam lobe for wear.It uses the same(3086212) cam that the 425 and early Sportsman 500s used that were subject to fail. One other thing is to disconnect the black kill wire from the cdi to see if that helps.

I'll check all that. Cam was replaced last year due to exhaust lobe. Thanks for the help

On the left side of the engine. There is a black hose that goes from the air box to the bottom front of the motor. Has a white filter in it. What is that?

Crank case vent and filter. Goes to the air box along with the top vent from the oil tank. Engine and oil tank have to vent to keep pressure from building up. These vent gasses circulate in the air box and go back through the carb along with a charge of fresh air.Basically all 4 stokes have similar set ups. Epa requirements to cut down on emissions.

When I turn that hose down without the filter in it it looks like coolant coming out

Filter needs to be changed every now and then. It's purpose is to trap any residual moisture from the crank case before the oil vapors/gasses enter the air box. Common for moisture to accumulate over the years in the filter. If in doubt about what the liquid was, just check your oil level, smell the dip stick for any coolant smell, change the oil and filter if you haven't done it in awhile. If coolant level in the radiator stays constant, probably just a mix of oil mist and water which is normal.
