Polairs 3500 lb winch wireless remote
#1
I have the 3500lb Polaris winch on my 2012 Sportsman 550 XP with the wired remote mounted on the handlebar. I am looking at buying the wireless remote and was wondering if it's easy to install, and if you have to do anything special to set up both the wired and wireless remote to work. From what I've read online, installation is pretty much plug and play but I wasn't sure if the easy installation only allowed you to have a wired or wireless switch, but not both. Was wondering if any wire splicing had to happen to have both switches attached to the winch.

I don't have an answer to your question but I hope you have better luck with your winch than I did, I had the same winch put on my 850 when I bought it in Nov and it crapped out the first time I plowed my driveway, I thought maybe I just got a dud so they put a new one on and 2 snow falls later that one quit too, so they put a 3rd one on and it lasted about as long as the first 2 did.
I am not talking about a lot of use here either, just a 2 car driveway and the sidewalk, all I ever used it for was to lift the plow that doesn't weight much, after I had to finish the job with a shovel for the 3rd time I had enough and asked my dealer if I could exchange it for the 3000# warn that is available for like 50 bucks more than the 3500# Polaris, they swapped it out for me and didn't charge anything for it, haven't had a problem since and I've used it more than the other 3 combined, I have used it to move some heavy stuff too like my shed and it works great.
Warn used to make all the Polaris winch's but a few years ago they switched to made in China junk, I didn't know that when I bought mine or I would have asked for the warn.
You have a one year warranty on the Polaris winch so make sure you use it a lot to see if its OK or not, good luck.

Thanks for the input. No problems so far but at the first sign of trouble I'll be back at my dealer.
I see you have a 850 XP EPS and you have a WES lock & ride rear seat/cargo box. Is your sportsman a 2-up? If not, do you have a link for the cargo box/seat you have?
