Default 08 Scrambler leaking???

Hey guys i have a 2008 Scrambler 500HO and have been having this issue lately with water leaking into the plastic case where the clutch and belt are at. I use my atv in alot in deep water and mud and thought maybe the seal on the inside was bad so i changed it but still leaking have no idea where it could be leaking from so i filled the whole thing with water to see where it was leaking and couldnt find anything. But everytime i take into water deeper than the case it leaks and i get stuck because the belt gets wet and the bike wont move. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum! If you just changed the outer cover seal, could be damage to the inner seal behind the front clutch. Plus there is a small rubber seal behind the rear clutch. Also check the rubber clutch air intake boot for any damage that could allow water to penetrate. OPT

The problem is they put the vent in about the worst possible place. I used to get wet belts all the time, so I came up with my own solution.

Now I can go in water up to the fenders, and I haven't once had a wet belt since doing this.

Like mentioned, if its not you intake or exhaust hoses to your belt housing, I will guarantee its the two seals behind the secondary and primary clutches on the belt housing's back plate. I just changed both on my 500.
It worked fine after that.

VERY nice !!! What kind of hose and size hose is that ? How'd you secure it to the clutch cover ?

It's some type of hose that's used for pools and hot tubs, stuffed into a rubber sewer pipe fitting, which I secured to the cover with the original boot and clamps.

There wasn't a whole lot of planning that went into it, I just went to Home Depot and looked around until I came up with something that would work.
