00' polaris explorer 250... no start

If the carb is clean.good fuel supply, then I'd replace crank seals. I've even found the ones behind the drive clutch partially popped out. 2 stroke has to have good bottom end compression as well as the top end. Here's another good video on how an engine works.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNLE8G3pC0k

ok thanks I'll get some seals ordered and give that a try I really appreciate your help.
Also do you think that could be why some of the exhaust is coming out of the clutch cover vent tube?
#22
That could be part of the reason. Here's a pic from another forum where a member found out his problem on the seal popping out. They can do this or just leak from being gas contaminated or age.

Yea that's popped out lol. Will I need a special clutch puller to remove mine?

ive got the new seals ordered and I'm just waiting on them to come in. I haven't pulled the covers off to look at them yet though. How likely is it that the timing could be off, like the flywheel key sheared?
#26
Anything's possible but didn't have that many problems on the two strokes.Easy way to tell is to pull the recoil and impact the flywheel nut off.You can see if the woodruff key and flywheel slot are still lined up.If they just zap the nut back on.

Got it going, pulled the clutch cover off and then the clutch and the seal was popped out just like that picture you sent me, put the new one in and it fired right up! Thanks for all your help

Try draining the 10 mm drain bolt at the bottom of the engine to see if the crank case has gas in it. If gas drips out,let it drain for awhile, replace the bolt, hold the throttle WIDE open without the plug in to clear any excess fuel, then see if it will crank. If it does crank then I would check out the carb again and replace the needle and seat. Also on these models make sure you turn the fuel valve off when not in use. Will eliminate any future crank flooding from the carb. OPT
