They get kinda stuck in there. Try soaking it with a penetrating oil for a few days. If the axle is junk go rent a slide hammer or make one. Weld something to the cup or yoke and give it a tug. Sometimes you have to secure the bike to the work bench or pick up so it doesn't fall off the jack stands. When you reinstall one put marine grease or anti seize on the splines. Good luck.
Also on the front diff it doesn't go through like the rear does. So don't try removing the other side and knocking it out. You will wreck the diff
