Default 09 550xp fuel pump

ok its been a year and a half since i had to replace my fuel pump in this thing, this will make 3 total pumps my 550 has used. its back in the shop with the same problem. im being told the fuel pump is bad and need a new one. polaris so far is saying they will not help as it has to do with gas and not the pump itself. is there any other pumps out there that are better than polaris's??

Three pumps shouldn't be a fluke, somethings causing the problem. Have you siphoned out the tank to see if there is trash, water, etc? Are you getting gas from a major "tier one" station or an independent? OPT

I have cleaned the fuel out several times. I only use 93 oct gas as the last time it was in the shop the mechanic said its better for it. The mechanic said he went thru all the wiring and electic of the bike and checked the engine out and the only thing he can find is the psi of the pump is only 23 and it shud b 45psi

Don't know it it helps, but did they happen to check or replace the fuel injector seal(could be seeping),plus the map sensor has a sealing grommet similar to the first 500 efi's that I've had to replace before that wears from vibration. Just fishin' around again, just not normal to blow through that many fuel pumps. OPT

You know Polaris doesn't make the pumps Airtex,Napa and some others are direct replacements on some of the older efi machines, not sure on the newer 550 and 850. See if this helps. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...entifier=21930 OPT

i got up with airtex, the manufacture of the pump, and he said they are working on replacement pump for the 09's as they have had many complants about the pumps not working on the 09's. bosh is the manufacture of the 09 pumps. airtex said they dont know when it will be out but will be out this year. it will be a pump only so we will not have to replace the whole unit. now im complexed on waiting for it or try polaris's and wonder when or if it will go out again.
