TrailBoss 250 help
#11
Today im riding and after about 45 minutes of riding my TrailBoss seemed like it may have overheated and died its done this a few times and once i let it sit it will fire right up? Is this normal since its a 2 stroke?
#12
Nope, not normal!! Check compression. If around 110 or lower then it could be time for a fresh top end. If it runs awhile and dies then piston and ring to cylinder clearance can widen, loosing even more compression and die. When it cools down some will crank back up until warm again. Plus the crank seals you mentioned earlier may need to be replaced also. OPT

Ill do a compression test as soon as can, its running strong its jus seems when i full throttle it for awhile it bogs out and dies hopefully i dont have to do a rebuild that sounds expensive and thats something ive never done is a rebuild.

if you go on youtube.com my username is 92591money the second video is it bogging out after riding and it was in a little backyard, i ride all over my neighborhood and if i dont crank full throttle it wont die on me but when i crank full throttle for like 10 minutes it dies, ill just have to wait till tomorrow to get the carb kit and then see what happens im just new to atvs and want it to run like a champ but like i said im new to atvs

Also if you watch the video i paid 700$ tell me if its worth that, all the plastic is not broke and seat is not ripped it was garage kept and was taking care of pretty good just another question i have...sorry

Have you rebuilt the carb yet as you mentioned?? Could be all that's wrong, could be just flooding out,but best to do a compression check. Plus again gas in the recoil area is because it got past the crank seals which could be another part of the problem. All things have to work together for an engine to run properly. You have to have the correct amount of air, correct amount of fuel, good compression(top end compression, plus bottom end compression (crank seals) and spark. ill have the carb kit tomorrow i ordered it three days ago so i should have it tomorrow ill get on here again after i rebuild the carb and ride it and let you know if it worked or not, after i do the rebuild ill find some crank seals which im hoping is a easy fix and replace those i might have more questions on replacing the crank seals.
