On the 550 I can leave it in 4WD -AND- Turf mode on (unlocked) at the same time. (cant do that on the X2). That is a great combination for 90% of my riding. Plenty of traction including steep climbs with loose gravel - yet easy, tight turns on the technical trails I typically ride.

On pavement, there is no contest. That is why virtually every turf mode owner I have heard from would never "go back".

Went from Sportsman X2 with Turf Mode to the current Outlander Max XT-P. Find I don't miss it as much on pavement as I thought I would. Could be having power steering on the Outty makes the difference. Without the power steering it made it a lot nicer on pavement with the Turf Mode. Maybe the same thing with Spdecat's Grizzly???
