Do I need to break in a new cam?
#22
Its only the cam , not the entire motor being broke in. I live in Canada too I just change it once a year in the spring.
7000 miles on our 97 and 3600miles on the 2001 without issues. I also use amsoil from Canadian tire. $14 per liter is not cheap.

I read your other Post,I mentioned two other things it could be. The good news is there both cheap and easy to do. Your old cam was worn so it had to be changed anyways just to find out what the next problem could be which can,t be much.
