Use low range any time you're under a load or at speeds lower than 10mph.Even loading up the atv in a truck or trailer use low range. Clutches will run cooler and belt will last longer. You can exceed this speed a little in low especially if you're running in rough terrain. Better to have in low than to strain the clutch system by leaving it in high range all the time as a lot of people do.High range does not "shift" into a lower range like drive on an automatic tranny on a car or truck does. Always had a hard time convincing people of this. OPT

Low range especially if you're jut putting around! As explained to me by Polaris engineers(if you can believe all they say?) clutches can run up to 100 degrees cooler or more if in low rather than straining in high range. Plus in high range at low speeds is where most of belt damage occurs. Glazing, belt separation, etc. Then as time progresses you start noticing erratic clutch engagement, etc. The reverse over ride button is to allow full power in reverse when you need it. For instance if you need to back out of a ditch, just push the button, have the wheels straight, full power is engaged, then just back out. This is normally a safety feature that can keep you from having accidents in reverse. OPT

The reverse over ride module is only for reverse! Just retards spark if the button is NOT pushed in reverse ONLY! It has nothing to do with forward range!! Some models show slow on the display. Just practice with it in your drive way and you will see how it works. It will spit and sputter until you push the button while in reverse! OPT
