have had problems with two polaris 4 wheelers cutting out when reverse is engaged. Seems like an ignition problem, any answers out there?

Yes, that is the reverse rev limiter. There is a button on the left side of the handlebars that you can hold to override the rev limit function. Can't remember what color but it will be easy to see. It's simply to keep you from going fast in reverse on accident. Hope this helps!

It may vary a bit by model, but I think they were all in the same location. Bottom button on the left handle bar.

yes they are all in the same place and they are yellow in color. for awd models it's also used to engage the awd in reverse. you have no awd with out pushing the yellow button on the left handlebar in reverse.

Just FYI, if you have an XP model, you do have AWD in reverse without pushing the button. It is just a rev limiter override on the XP.

Search the threads on here for reverse override. Think I've posted a few times on it. Quick, easy, cheap mod. Toggle switch and two wires then you don't have to worry about using the override button...
