Default 07 sportsman 500 x2 charging issues

Had the quad out the other day and the battery keeps flashing on the speedo cluster. It seems to do it really when machine is ideling more so or running at lower rpm. I went to the diagnostic screen and machine is showing 11.8 volts with key on not running and 12 when at idle going up to 12.5 when just above idle with a little throttle and then 13 when giving about 1/2 throttle.. I just replaced the control module last year that has all the circut breakers i it. hope its not that unit doing something again!! Any ideas where to start and what procedures do i need to do to check stator for proper voltage?? Thanks

Have the battery load tested first. Could be as simple as a shorted out cell. If the battery checks out and can hold a charge, then sounds like you're back to the control module again since it does control the charging among other things. Some have had to do this several times. One poster said he removed the back of the new module and sealed it with rtv or some other sealant if I remember correctly. You can check all stator yellows between each other also, should show around 0.43 ohms resistance(+or- 15%) with NO Yellow wire shorted to ground to see if the stator charge coil may have failed. If these wires check out then it's the module again. OPT
