Default 2004 Sportsman 500HO rattle from the front

Hi, i'm trying to figure out where this ratlle is coming from. it doesn't do it at idle or high speed...when taking off or driving 5mph there is a loud plastic or rack rattle. i searched the forum and find some info but no real fix. Any guess or fix where it is coming from?

Thanks
Sbishop

Its not coming from the clutch is it? I know when the clutch components start to get worn they can knock and clatter pretty good.

No i'm pretty sure its not mechanical, its more a rattle then a knock or clatter...more annoying then anything else...especially if you are taking off slowly.

Things that you can check are the front panel(under the front rack),make sure it's in place properly, plus under the front panel are two small bolts on either side that holds the front cab in place. Could be rattling there if a bolt is loose or missing. If you have a winch see if you can eliminate it as the noise source. Plus check the strut mounts at the top to make sure the top and bottom strut pivots haven't cracked and fallen out. Can make noise there. Item #19 and 24. If all else fail strap someone light on the front that has good ears. That's where a wife or girl friend comes in handy OPT

Front racks have been known to rattle sometimes.
