You trying to trap me Scooter?? In defense of Polaris atv's this machine was brought in by a gap toothed, loud mouth, backwoods, know it all red neck(we have a lot of em down here in the South and I got my share of em that came through the door!) that came barging through the front door cussing, not caring if any women or children were around!I heard him all the way at the back of the shop,I came into the show room and ushered him back to the shop area where I could calm him down and find out what his problem was. Started cussing that it just died on him after it started making noise. We unloaded it,I checked the dipstick(yea,Moose,no oil showing) then drained the oil into a nice clean drain pan while I let him watch. What I got out looked like Stp and amounted to about 3/4's of quart total along with the metal shavings! I just politely showed it to him, which finally shut him up! After all was said and done I rebuilt the engine, new crank, pistons, bearings, the whole works. He paid the bill and I never saw him again. A day in the life of a mechanic! Never was a dull moment there! Yep Scooter, you tracked me down! The shop's having it's 25th anniversary next week and I just might show up. I did work almost 23 years there from day one when we opened the doors.

LOL!!
No trap. Did quite a bit of business there. Bought the wifes trail blazer new from there and lots of parts for the trail boss.
I was in one time talking with the parts guy. Said they had a predator back in the shop that they could see the red Oklahoma dirt going in to the carb. Of course, the motor had locked. He said Polaris covered it under the warranty even after they said it shouldn't be.
Heck, you probably fixed the brakes on the wifes trail blazer a week after the warranty went out on it. And they got it covered.

You talked to old white haired Bobby! Yea,if it was a Polaris I fixed it! We tried I think better than a lot of area dealers to help the customer on warranty problems (at least a lot of converts from other shops told me that!) No harm in any dealer calling to see if something can get warrantied and I did most of the calling. The Polaris engineers knew me well, probably more than they wanted to OPT
