On the older ones we installed them back by the battery as recommended(not too good of an idea) The newer models come prewired and are mounted under the right front fender on the upper frame with a plastic cover on them.

yeah this is a brand new one but the wires (black and green) coming from the rocker are not very long. I think I can make it work straight below the headlight (high beam) and above the radiator cap. Do you see any problems with it there?

I have mounted contactors pretty much anywhere on the bikes w/ out no issues. basiclly you try to put them so, they stay out of the mud/water if you can.

I ended up putting under the front panel between head light and radiator cap. Everything worked out very well and I feel good about keeping it clean and dry there. It left me very good room to zip tie the excess wires and keep them out of the way.

Thanks again guys. This site has been a blessing to a new atv owner.
