Your first post mentions a new piston. if you just dropped in a std piston in a 27 year old machine,could still be part of the problem among other things on the way it runs.

its a new piston but its original size. I'm pretty sure it has to do with fuel system in tearing the carb back apart today sometime if I get a chance. If that don't work I'll do the crank seals an go from there
