I recently bought a 2005 Polaris scrambler 500ho. When i test drove it, after reaching about half throttle, it runs very bogged down. I believed it was like this because i was at 4000 feet in elevation but after bringing it home the problem still exists.

It will idle, the 4x4 works and at low speeds its runs fine. Does anybody have any suggestions? The only fix i have tried was replacing the gas with regular gas from the pump.

 

Sounds like it might be time to check into the carb. If you take it off don't just clean it,install a new carb kit. 2003 2005 Polaris Scrambler 500 4x4 Carburetor Rebuild Kit Carb Repair Set New | eBay

 

Just an update, had to adjust the jets, cleaned everything and it ran perfectly
