Ya good call. The OD edge of the one way where the seal goes is thin and sharp. It actually wore through the brass which has a slightly bigger OD on mine. It ended up sitting on top of the seal creating a flush surface so I just stuck another one on top. But using steel is a good idea. You wont have to clean up all the brass filings either after a while
