Default Plow mount help? 08' sportsman 800

Im Installing a Moose 50" straight blade plow. What I would like to know is on the mount plate that bolts to the underside of the ATV I notice theres a formed steel lip on the ATV frame itself towards the front should the Plow mount plate fit into this channel? or is it suppose to sit flush and tight to the ATV frame or is it suppose to have a gap between the ATV frame and mount plate when secured?

Thanks

I would assume it fits flush but you should contact Moose if the instructions aren't clear.

I would agree that having a gap wouldn't make sense, it should be flush mounted to distribute the stress evenly.
First, check the mounting hardware and make sure the correct parts were sent- when I ordered my plow mount the wrong hardware kit and mounting plate was sent.(The website shows 2 different mounts available, but one cross references to a 500)
If it's the correct kit, I would try lining up the push tubes and plow to see where they line up with under the frame to double check and make sure the placement is correct.
My Cycle Country kit came with a tech support number in the box, check to see if yours has a number on the instructions.

Thanks guys...........I will try and post some pics to give you a better Idea as to what my problem was. However I think I got it to work the way it was Intended. What I had to do though was take a torch and ever so slightly heat up the curved steel lip on the frame I was referring to and bend it back just enough so that the plow mount plate would sit flush to the curved steel lip and tight to the underside of the ATV frame and my U-bolt hardware would drop right in. Pretty minor actually once I thought it out a little more. Should be good to go now. Pics to follow.
