Default `02 Sportsman 500 HO made me proud

It`s been sitting a couple weeks under a cover and started right up. It`s 10*F here and this was the acid test after installing correct spark plug. I keep a battery maintainer on it she fired right up with full choke and never spit or sputtered. Glad not to have the electronic liabilities of EFI. I think I got a good year and hope my work will be rewarded. Put in new ball joints and u-joints and will continue to make this a solid machine. It has over 6,000 miles on it and was rode hard and put away wet until now. The engine runs clean. I can run it in the garage and don`t get sick from the fumes. Just got done plowing a little snow with it and she ran like a sweetheart.

New poster boy for the Sportsman 500.. They will treat you right if you take reasonable care of them. Guess I'm still sentimental about this old work horse Fugi engine. It had a good production run,but I'm going back to the old shop soon and finally try out the new ProStar 570.

0*F this a.m. and she wouldn`t fire. Didn`t have the maintainer on it (didn`t know it was gonna get this cold) 15 min. with the ceramic heater and charger and she popped off. I will allways preheat below 10*F from now on. Just think, another 4 months and it'll be spring. What a winter it`s been!

I have a 02 sport also..it sits outside covered..been rel cold here...below zero at night..I keep the maintainer on always..it fires right up....it was -18 a week ago...and went to start it..fired right off....the maintainer is a plus for the cold...no need to heat any thing...just keep battery topped off

I can try it I guess. Just so easy for me to pre-heat since I have the heater from my airplane days and it`s a lot easier on the engine. Plus my starter drive makes weird noises and will be changed when wx gets warm.
