2008 polaris sportsman 800 crank no start
Will crank no start.good battery power. Spark and fuel pressure. Did find two wires chaffed at the t-map connector purple and red and white or pink and white. Tape off wires for now, still crank no start no codes in cluster. Could this have shorted out sensor. Does anyone know the spec on the resistance should be in sensor so i can test. All fuses are good also. Swapped relay from side to side also. Help lol

More than likely a short in the sensor wiring, not the sensors themselves. Look at the "sticky" post in the expert section on 700/800 efi wiring problems. Replaced a bunch of Polaris harness kits that were still junk and would fail later. Problem is the thin wiring and also the connectors themselves. Usually no codes will be thrown.Wires can be chaffed as you've found, plus can break internally. If you feel any soft wires from the connector wiring that runs down to the main harness, the wire's probably shorted out.Plus look at the crank sensor wiring that runs under the throttle body as I've found bare wires here that would cause intermittent spark. The sticky post mentions this site and several members have used the stronger harness repair kits from here.Only The Best

thanks for the quick response. I have read a lot of stuff and you seem to come up in all the answers. so as it makes sense I ordered that pigtail you suggested and we will see what happens. I will inspect the crank sensor pigtail more too in the morning as when I found those wires I kinda stop looking at anything else. I just got this bike as the last one was a 500 and I liked it hope this takes cares of my issue thanks again
