ATV Pulling!!!
#1
Last summer my friend and I went to a few ATV pulls. They were fun!! His machine is an '98 Explorer 400 with a K&N filter and GBC Mud Buster tires. Pretty much stock.
We were up against many Sportsman 500's, and a few Grizzleys. Somehow we were able to beat them all!
With a few 100 lbs. John Deere tractor wieghts, she tipped the scale around 1000 lbs!!
ATV pulling is fun and cheap if you already have an ATV. Make sure you use your Low Range on your tranny. A few Scramblers tried their luck and toasted their belts. They did OK in 2WD, but in 4WD we lost them in a cloud of smoke.
Does any one else go ATV pulling? Any good strories or tips before we hit the dirt this summer?
'96 Scrambler w/RCR Stage 1 kit, K&N filter, and Boyesen Power Reeds.

KINGofthehill,
Well, since your from New York, I remembered an article in one of my Dirt Wheels magazine. It was about ATV pulling, the Feb. 2001 issue.
Sounds like the place to pull is in Prattsville. Also, here is a number to call to get more info. (518) 299-3205
The ones that I have been to were part of the Iowa Lawn Tractor Pulling Association. The ATV's pulled and same sled as the "hot rodded" lawn tractors.
