Default 2005 Polaris sportsman 800

Please help need to find roller cage for front differential have herd their is one made of alum not plastic any info would be of great help thanks Chuck

Found that one thanks what I need to know if I can get cheaper and will the alum type damage any other parts in the diff. Thanks jumbo

The one jumbofrank will fit and is about as cheap as any you can find on ebay or doing a google search.Seems all the aluminum cages are between 135-145 bucks. Won't hurt any internal parts in the diff. Plastic roller cages just couldn't take the stress.

Ok thanks to both old tech and jumbo will get one and reinstall the front diffarential { should I replace coil in front rear while it is apart unit has 130 hours on it thanks

Just hook up 12 volts to the coil and test that it has good magnetic pull against the armature plate. The armature plate is another thing I would replace if it appears warped or deep wear rings or if it is magnetized. Just hold a screw driver to the plate and see if it sticks. If in doubt about any part I'd replace it while you have it apart. Tough to have to go back into something twice.

Mr old tech one more question for you the back side of the differential housing has a sleeve in it that the ring gear rides in to keep from eating into the aluminum housing is that sleeve supposed to have a coating on it or is the brown counting just dirt thanks chuck any one can jump in and help thanks befor hand

Can't remember.. Take a rag and wipe around it. As long as it isn't scored I wouldn't worry about it as you can't replace it without replacing the whole case side even though it shows it's a bushing.No part number listed for it on Polaris Parts Catalog.
