Default polaris compression problem

I have a 98 polaris 300 express 2 stroke and was running fine. I drove it about 1/4 mile slow and when I stopped the engine went to idle for about 10 seconds and spit back very loud and shut off. now it has no compression. Any ideas?

Piston seizure, broken piston skirt would be my best guess. Just check compression and if 100 psi or lower, tear the top end down and see what damage has been done. Could also be a crank seal popped out(clutch side) but doesn't sound like it as usually they would just die if this happened without all the noise.Plus not a bad idea to make sure you still have spark.

Thanks for the quick response. I will check the piston and jug and post.

Got all the covers off and was going to pull the spark plug wire off and discovered the plug had blown out. I screwed it back in with my fingers and the threads seemed ok. Tried to start and it and it started right up. Now it won't take the throttle and smothers out. I just had the carb rebuilt 3 days before the plug came out. Any ideas on this? Thanks for your advise. I did take the gas tank loose and turn on its side because I thought the head had to come off.

I'd still check compression and go from there.
