Default 2006 Polaris magnum 330 4x4 brakes

I just did a complete brake job. New master cylinders, lines, pads, rotors and calipers. Now they're not working. I bled the brakes and still not working. Now I'm scratching my head. Please help.

Master cylinder primed up manually before you installed it? Can help if you do this at times. You need to bleed the caliper farthest from the master cylinder first, then move to the front. Usually when you do change out a complete system you need a little extra help such as a Mityvac that can usually make short work of bleeding brakes..May take several times to get all the air out.

I borrowed my friend and his mityvac to bleed the brakes. I got a little bit of brakes. Right front had a lot of air in the line. Foot brake doesn't work at all. I'm going out of my mind trying to get these damn brakes working. Never had so much problems with bleeding brakes in my life.

Small rear master cylinders were bad about leaking air over the years especially if the emergency brake pedal wasn't used every now and then. May be part of the problem. Item #25.Dirt Cheap Yamaha & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

I replaced that also. My local dealer suggested I did if I was doing a complete brake job. I think I might have to take the floor board out and investigate some more. I sunk so much money into this ATV(almost $1200) without any results. I am not bringing it to the dealer and spend more money(whatever they charge per hour)...I'll figure it out sooner or later.

Then I'd concentrate on priming up the emergency brake master cylinder first. Have the Mityvac on the correct rear caliper bleeder while pumping the pedal. May take several times times get a firm pedal. Once you get this, usually you can connect the Mityvac to the other bleeder and continue pulling the brake lever to remove the air. This is the farthest line from the master cylinder and takes time to get air out. Again if the Mityvac isn't helping, try reverse flushing on this bleeder.

Yes I've had defective ones also.No telling how long they've been sitting on shelves which just allows seals to dry out, crack and leak air.Once you get the system bled with good brakes, occasionally use the foot brake to keep the master cylinder seal pliable and working, most people forget about the emergency brake and small master cylinder until they actually need it. Good luck.
