400 Xplorer vs 500 Magnum

Most of the riding I do, I am either on the brakes or I am not. Most of the time I don't have to use the brakes anyway because the majority of my riding is casual trail riding. When riding fast & hard, I am hardly ever coasting. When riding large hills, I am either accelerating up, or it's steep enough that I am having use the brakes, regardless of whether it has EBS or not.
I think the EBS in low range on the Sportsman is awesome. If you could have it only in low range that would be great. But on steep downhills you still have to use the brakes anyway because the rear tires will slide. But any machine I have been on steep down hills I have had to use the brakes, except the Suzuki King Quad in super low range.
Almost everyone I have talked to prefers EBS for 4x4 machines, and majoirty rules. I just don't prefer it for my type of riding. I also don't like that it supposedly generates more heat, but I haven't seen that problem come up yet.
To me, the performance (stock & potenial) of the non EBS setup outwieghs the braking effect. I admit though, if I could have more engine braking without losing any performance and still being able to get the same performance out of it through aftermarket as a "normal" CVT, I would love to have EBS, because you can regulate how much engine braking you are getting by throttle position.
