Basically you were getting the 700 with free eps compared to retail price. 2015 Grizzly 700's with eps were $7237, $500 less without eps but eps is worth more than $500 to me. Had one 2015 Grizzly 550 with eps for $6478, that's a real deal compared to retail, $2200 off. While I like what I see, I'm still not tempted to upgrade lol.

a dealer a couple hours away from me has a base Kodiak for $5500

You'd be surprised how many Hondas,Suzukis,Yamahas along with Kawasakis I've had come into the shop over almost a 23 year period that owners have said that they would never buy another one also.. We had plenty of name brand trade ins for Polaris atvs and Rangers. All depends on a persons experience with a particular brand, how it's been taken care of,whether they bought it new or used or just flat out inherited someone else's problem child. On trade ins we've taken every brand under the sun,EXCEPT anything Chinese. Those I will definitely say have a bad reputation for reliability overall..

I agree, everybody makes a lemon and people get overly frustrated and jump ship all the time. problem is it seems to happen to Polaris a lot lately.. its sad because they are a very innovative company

If you can get a brand new 2016 Kodiak 700 for $5500, it kinda makes it hard to justify spending almost that much for a used machine. People overpay many times for a quad and then have to sell because they never had the money to buy it in first place. I see it all the time on craigslist. Then they want someone to take it off their hands after they also spent thousands on accessories that they also never had the money to afford. Sorry, not paying $7000 for your used quad. A lesson that is not taught well enough today, don't buy things you can't afford. Just because you can get financed doesn't mean you can afford it.

I dont think that kodiak has a full guage cluster. If you go yammy, get the Grizxly, tge extra is worth it.

I love my 400ho, when i have to replace it, will either stay Polaris or get an outty.

The extra for the Grizzly is a lot extra over the Kodiak. The Kodiak may not have all the features of the Grizzly but it does have a decent gage cluster and shares the same 708cc engine. The biggest feature the base model lacks is diff-lock. I just wonder if a 2015 Grizzly with the previous 686cc engine is equal to or exceeds the performance of the 2016 Kodiak. I would guess they would be very close. At this point I'm just window shopping. I'm not really seriously thinking about upgrading.

Just did some more looking, the Kodiak EPS is the perfect package. I love the sealed rear wet brake, a huge plus in my opinioin.
