Default Engine brake

I have a 2008 sportsman 800 that has what seems like to me a lot of engine brake. Is there any way to lighten that up just a bit?

If you haven't checked into the clutches, might be time to at least replace the washers on each side of the one way and blow out all accumulated belt dust. A dragging one way can be bothersome. Only other way is really expensive and that is to replace the clutches with a non ebs system.
