Was looking at my Hawkeye and noticed left rear wheel was crooked. After further inspection, the left axle was out of the box and the boot was damaged. What holds the axle in the gearbox? Didn't see any snap rings, but may have been broken/lost. Any help, much appreciated.

You don't say what year model but most are the same.A circlip holds the rear drive shaft in the gear case. Item#5.2010 Polaris HAWKEYE 300 2X4 (A10LB27AA) Drive Train, Rear Drive Shaft | Cycle Parts Warehouse
Thanks Old Tech for the reply. Not sure of year, but the plate says manufactured 10/19/2005. VIN 4XALD27AX6B708630.

Think people have had this problem before on this Asian import. You have the Hawkeye 200. Has a circlip on the rear shaft also but not listed on the parts diagram. Zoom in on the shaft end.2006 Polaris HAWKEYE 2X4/4X4 (A06LB27AA) Shaft, Rear /Ld27aa/Ab/Ac/Ad | Cycle Parts Warehouse
Chasing trails, Dodging dust devils.
Also check the suspension arm, the mounting tabs on the Hawkeyes before 07 were weak and break away from the sub frame. This happened to mine.
Thanks OldTech and Hawkeye rider for the great input. Will check it out!
