This May Sound Stupid But Is Your Axel Bearings Tight. Because I Have A 99 TB And Once My Axle Bearings Came Loose And It Did The Same Thing Because When You Hit The Brakes And Push The Caliper Piston Then Leave Off If The Axel Bearings Are Loose It Will Push The Piston Back In. Hope This Helps.

Almost all the pads I have seen have to be broken in or burnished before they work really well. If your rotors were in bad shape the entire pad maynot be making good contact and thus limiting friction. I had to ride my quad up to about 20-25mph and apply the brakes to a complete stop about 15-20 times to get mine all working well. That was for the factory pads and the EBC pads I just put on. Just an idea.

to dakotart: i have had the quad for about a year now. the breaks have gotten better with use on the sportsmen though. thanks for all the help everyone, i am going to call my dealer to see what he thinks.
