Doing my Stator resistance checks now. Apologies for the naive question but I am at a loss to how to disconnect/isolate the black ignition wire at the CDI?

Pulser coil gets 189ohms (service manual says 185 ohms).
Stator I'm getting .5 - .6 ohms (service manual says .43ohms)

You're well within 10% +/- of the values listed which is the allowed amount. Stator and pick up should be ok by your readings. That leaves the cdi if there's no spark with the black kill wire pulled. I'd double check all connections also before I ordered anything.

Thank you so much OPT. I hate to ask again but do I literally pull the black wire from the back of the cdi jack? Just worried I wont get it back in as it seems quite tight.

Tonight I am going to remove the plastic surrounding the frame so I can access the ground wire's and clean them all off. Im going to hose off all possible mud/dust and try to clean all connections as best as I can.

Thank you for your continued help. I am far from being experienced mechanically but you have given me confidence in the future to fix things myself instead of just taking something straight to a mechanic.

No,just disconnect it from the other black wires. If you have to snip the wire, if this model has them tied together. You can always splice it back up later. "IF" you haven't removed this black wire by now do so and then check again for spark...

Opt I just tested the stator (y1-y2, y1-y3, y2-y3) and the service manual states they need to be .43 ohms+\- 15%. I'm getting .6ohms on all 3 tests. Weirdly right before the chart that states .43 it actually has a sentence that says .19 ohms +\- 15%

I am out here ready to cut the black wire from the CDI jack but I just have a terrible feeling I'm disconnecting the wrong wire that will create another problem. Do you have a diagram that verifies that black wire indeed leads to the kill switch and has to be cut? Apologies but my lack of experience makes me worried cutting this wire haha.

Apologies OPT but I found a schematic that shows the wiring. I notice that the black wire has a "splice" further down where it splits into 3. Can I find that splice and pull it there? I'm wondering if I should remove the front plastic from the quad to try and track it down.

YES, either pull it from the splice or just snip the black wire from the cdi leaving room so you can splice it back or to a new cdi later if you have to replace it. No big deal either way.
