Hs anyone seen or used this Sno Traxx kit? Sounds really cool. Esepecially since up here 4 wheelers are not allowed on the groomed state marked trails which is what almost all the atv trails are, we use them 8 months of the year and the snowmobiles use them the other 4. but wouldnt that kit make my quad a snowmobile? Going ot have to look into this.

You know, I think that it would make your quad a snowmachine in the eyes of the trail requirements. Tracks and skis, no tires. I just wonder if your quad would have a good enough power-to-weight ratio to justify purchasing the kit. The only Polaris models that I could see getting any use out of the SnowTraxx conversion are the Sport and Scrambler models. I have considered getting the kit for my Honda 250R in the past, but, in the snow you would really need a built Banshee or Quadzilla to get the kind of power that is even close to comparable to a snowmachine. They might be fun on the groomed trails like you were talking about, but I would really love to shred some powder if I had the choice! Good luck in your decision and keep us posted if you get the kit and take her out in the white stuff...

yeah I thought the same thing . even a banshee would have a hard time keeping up with allot of the snowsleds out there. My Yamaha exciter, that I know longer own would do 95 -100 mph. Even a 340 or 440 would beat most any ATV on the snow. They make several kits for the 250 polaris engine. I have emailed the company for some info. I looked up all the info on rules and they only ban wheeled machines from the trails and i have seen some dual tracked snowmobiles. Cost would be a big factor. One of the main reasons i wanted to check into it is my cabin. We can get to it most winters, but it is not a 100 percent thing that it will be plowed. Up here it is only good snowmobling 3 months max that is why i sold my snowmobile, it sat from april to late december or january.
