35 psi is a tad on the low side as the manual shows 39 psi +/- 2 psi.May or may not be enough to matter. Check the grommet (Item #9)under the t-bap for any splits. If damaged it can cause problems by sucking in air. Plus check the connectors and the wiring from the t-bap and tps sensor for any bare spots or soft feeling wires from internal melting.Several things could be causing this problem and best to have the manual and go through the trouble shooting checks to help narrow it down.Plus if it's not throwing codes this makes it a little bit harder to track down.2007 Polaris Sportsman 500 EFI Service Manual PDF Download Even a short in the etc switch could cause one to die. Just go through the electrical checks and efi checks and tests. Sensors were usually not a problem area but wiring and connectors were.

The manual can still help you narrow things down. Go through the electrical and efi check list and it can save you time and frustration.Just too may things on efi machines that could be causing the problem.Plus the most common problems we had were the tbap wiring harness and connectors. That along with an occasional tps harness. Not the sensors themselves. Look above in the Polaris expert section "sticky" on 700/800 efi problems. This applies to most all efi machines including your 500.A member started offering better harness repair kits than what I had from Polaris that kept failing. This can be one of the reasons or the main reason for the back firing and dying. This was another common symptom of a t-bap wiring harness short.https://otbpowersports.com/products/
