Sport man 500 ho problem

Default Sport man 500 ho problem

i can start up my atv and it will idle. But when I give it gas it bogs out. I sprayed the carbs and it's still giving me the problem. Anyone have suggestions?

Could be carb related or even cam shaft related if it's an older Sportsman(1996-2000) model. Exhaust lobes would wear down,engines would idle ok,but wouldn't take throttle without bogging,back firing.Would help to know which year model you have to help narrow down the problem.

You posted twice on this and also about stuck choke. If the choke is partially open that could have something to do with it. Once you get the choke plunger solved and if it still bogs down,possible you need to clean and rebuild the carb if it's never been touched before.Float level has to be set right on these or you can have problems. i know my problem after reading that article, the needle in the slide isn't following it up it is missing the clip. Thank you for your input!

Yes if you're missing either of the plastic rings or the clip that can complicate things a bit on the carb working right.. Other people have posted about that same thing before after cleaning carbs.
