Default hub wireing/battery dead in 24hrs

1999 polaris sportsman 500--I redone the front hubs replaced seals and bearings cleaned everything up. went under the hood and only had 9-10 volts at the plugs, had read a article on wireing straight to battery. here is what I done maybe someone can help me. I cut the blue/white wire to awd switch and run a fused wire directly to battery, cut the 2 blue wires from awd switch and cut the plugs off, hooked each blue wire to a coil blue wire. cut the brown/white wire from speedo and awd switch and hooked together along with brown/white coil wires and run them straight to negative side of battery. I have 12 volts at the blue wires now and the hubs work great just don't know what is causeing my battery to drain over night? maybe I need to hook coil wires to ign. ground and leave brwn/white wires to neg side of battery not sure maybe someone knows. any help would be appreicated

then I found the problem when I disassemble the switch and put it back together I mashed the wire tabs together they stay hot all the time took a pic and separated the tabs now the on an off switch works the power wire turns the power on an off to the hubs like is suppose to thanks for the reply though before they were staying hot all the time and draining my battery
