I bought the 2000 Polaris used about two months ago off Facebook Marketplace. Ran good for the first few weeks but then started stalling out when we’d come to stops or sometimes stall when giving it throttle from a stopped position. Next thing I know it won’t start at all. Replaced the carb with a new one off eBay (cheap, $40). Started right up and ran fine for 4 days. Then, two days ago, it started making funny noises while driving and died in our field. Engine turns but won’t catch. Took the carb out again and cleaned it. Still nothing. Now it will backfire and spit out black smoke. We got it to start for a second but only when hitting the throttle, it would die immediately. I don’t know what else to do, I’m not a super savvy engine guy. This happen to anyone else on here?
