Default Help. 2006 Sportsman 500 dead

We were riding on the trail just fine and the wife's machine just died. Will not restart.

When you turn it on, the pump cycles and you see that the display is lit up like normal. Try to crank and nothing. Display goes dark.

Try to crank again and nothing still.

Turn they key off and then go to run position and you hear the pump cycle, display comes on. Try to crank and everything goes dark and no more sound.

Please help. We are camping and can't easily get it back into the RV without power. TIA

Sounds like a bad power connection or ground.

Shorted battery cell. Disconnect current battery and try jump start without using the current battery.

Battery is good and connected well. I read the post HERE and pulled the battery and swapped with a working one and no joy.

It does start with the pull rope. It also runs.

Switched the starting switch to the other known good one and even an aftermarket one and a Polaris one. All same result. Beginning to think PDM is the issue. Sending it to a tech for an hour of diagnostics to see if anything jumps out at him. I'll try to push him in the right directions if necessary.

Good plan. Electrical problems can be hard to diagnose in person and even harder over the internet.

At this point, I have done what I can to diagnose the problem. Now it would be nice if I could get someone to do the rest of the work.

Also have another ATV with problems. May trade them in for a RZR or Maverick
