2020 Electrical Hell! 2003 Scrambler 500 4x4
#1
Good morning guys, this will be my first real post here. I hope everyone is fit and well.
I ride a 2003 scrambler 500 4x4.
Problem. Not charging.
Solution. new ricks stator and rectifier/regulator. new extra ground strap from engine to chassis(4 awg) new weather pac connectors wherever I can.new start solenoid.new left handlebar switch.
Still not charging.
Symptoms/Clues. I was out riding and could not get up an easy hill.(AWD was not engaging) after a minute of reving the ***** out of it the AWD engaged. later I also noticed (on the same ride)
the led light bar would randomly turn off and back on.
So in a nut shell
AWD randomly works ( electrical not mechanical)
HEADLIGHT randomly goes off and then back on .
BATTERY still not charging after installing a new rick stator and rectifier/regulator
1, now where should I go? could it be a ground problem associated with the AWD and the HEADLIGHT?
2, how does the battery receive its charge? is it from the R20 red wire that comes from the voltage regulator rectifier? is there another color wire that does this that I'm not seeing on the wiring diagram?
3, What am I missing?
Thanks very much guys.
