Default Magnetic Hub coil

I’m trying to replace the magnet in my right front hub. I got the old one out but can’t get the new one in. I have watched a few videos but mine has a lip around the front edge and I can’t get the new magnet over it. What am I doing wrong. 98 sportsman 500

Default Well duh

So read some posts about replacing the magnetic coil and realized lip was not supposed to be there. Unfortunately grinding it down didn’t leave enough of the inner ring to put back together. I got another strut, replaced everything put it back together and still won’t engage. This think is tough!!!

Default Update

So I worked on the right hub all day! Finally figured out that a couple of the rollers in the helix clutch were sticking and would not fit through the opening to expand. Worked and made sure all could move freely and presto it an AWD again!
