Apparently the publishers of aftermarket repair manuals have given up trying to keep up with the yearly (and ½ yearly) changes Polaris makes. Can’t really blame them. The genuine Polaris shop manual is big, covers all models, is expensive and well worth it. It’s a 5 ring binder format that you purchase “supplements” for every year to keep it current.

Got my service manual the other day it's worth the money.
It is a Sportsman service manual, real big and thick it covers 1996-2000 Sportsman 500 and 1999-2000 Sportsman 335. It's the on the dealer uses and it seems to cover in detail all aspects of the sportsman

The shop manual (not Clymer, etc..) from the dealer is the BEST thing you can buy for your ATV. It tells you how to do anything, and how everything works.
My only complaint, still no '99 or '00 supplement yet. Anybody esle have one?
